McLaren’s Negatives wins JUTRA for best animated film!

McLaren’s Negatives has been presented in over 150 film festivals and receives many awards!

Passages wins the Best Animation Film Award at the Brooklyn International Film Festival and the Public Award for the Best Foreign Short Film at the Créteil Woman Film Festival!

The Sapporo Project enters the film festival circuit: Toronto International Film Festival, Atlantic Film Festival, Vancouver International Film Festival, Festival du Nouveau Cinéma, Sapporo International Shortfest and Asolo Art Film Festival.

MJSTP Films is thrilled to announce the signature of a contract with Co Hoedeman to produce his new short animated film The Blue Marble. Co’s revolutionary animated filmmaking is quite inspiring and we are beyond excited to have the chance to produce him. Co Hoedeman is an Academy award winner for best animated short film with The Sand Castle. You can view this amazing animation here

Passages will be presented at the Cinémathèque Québécoise on April 7 2011. The documentary is part of an animated film program made by women and curated by Julie Roy.

The animated film JUTRA has secured financing to go in production: the National Film Board of Canada and SODEC have confirmed their investment. Thank you!

The short animated film The Blue Marble directed by Co Hoedeman has been given two new funding sources:

The Filmmaker Assistance Program from the National Film Board of Canada and a production grant from the Canada Arts Council!

MJSTP FIlms is looking forward to this new collaboration on this animated film that touches on the important subject of child soldiers.

The Blue Marble gets an important person onboard: the Lieutenant-Général Roméo Dallaire is now acting as a script consultant on the project!

Four of our films are screening in the upcoming weeks:

Post-Partum (2004) will be screened on November 18th at the J.A De Sève Cinema at Concordia University in Montreal at 7 p.m. The film is presented in collaboration with the Festival Nouveau Cinema and the Mel Hoppenheim School of Cinema to celebrate the school’s 35th anniversary with a screening of alumni’s productions.

McLaren’s Negatives (2006) will be screened at Dokfest Leipzig in October as part of a special programme of the Best Animated Documentaries of all time!

Passages (2008) will be screened at Document 9 International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival in Glasgow at the end of October.

And finally, The Sapporo Project (2010), will be presented at the 22nd St. John’s International Women’s Film Festival in October as well!
